Flights to Bari or Brindisi bring you the center of Apulia, the former home of the Holy Roman Emperors that ruled from here in the Middle Ages.
Three world heritage sites can be visited: Castel del Monte, the Trulli of Alberobello and the Sassi and the Park of the Rupestrian Churches of Matera. But many other sites deserve a visit, the Baroque city of Lecce, the seaside city of Otranto and Ostuni, the city on the top of a hill, just to mention a few. Apulia also has a selection of great hotels in rebuilt farmhouses (Masseria), beautiful beaches and golf courses, great restaurants and vineries. For pure leisure the summer months June, July and August are the best seasons, August is very crowded from Italian tourism and hot. The best time for cultural sightseeing are and golf is the spring and the autumn.
