Discover Ghana, one of Africa’s unexplored countries, where its people are regarded by many as West Africa’s friendliest. This often overlooked country is blessed with hundreds of kilometers of coast and beach such as those at Akwidaa, one of the southernmost places in Ghana.
It is also home to some of West Africa’s best wildlife Parks; Mole National Park has over 300 species of birds and 94 species of mammals, including elephants, antelopes, buffaloes and baboons. There’s also Kumasi, known as “The Garden City” due to its tropical climate and vegetation, the cultural cradle of Ghana and home of the Ashanti King.
And then there’s Cape Coast, once the largest slave-trading centre in the region, it is today one of the most culturally significant spots in Africa. We would of course take you to Ghana’s capital Accra - await visits of an art gallery with a wonderful collection of contemporary Ghanaian and West African art and a tour of Casket Market at Nungua to see woodworkers creating customized coffins in the shapes of fruits, animals, and even automobiles to represent the lives of the deceased.
A drive into the mountains to the Krobo regio will take you where artists are famous for their magnificent beads made with colorful crushed glass. After watching the intricate process, try and create a bead of our own.
