Kerala the land of the gods in Southern India has a network of intercostal waterways lined with coconut trees giving shade and protection to an invisible population active under these trees. Visits to the local highlights are astounding, some a voyage in time to hundreds of years ago, visiting also the religious sights, Hindu, Muslims and Christians living peaceful together, still creating separate communities only the sounds of their speakers are joining and mixing with each other. Many festivals can be visited, the Theyyam festival of the Hindus where the bodies of the priests are painted redish or yellow and disguised with masks and their dances lead to trance and revelation.
