Columbia's Nature & Culture
Columbia, South America
Fall in love with Columbia as we take you from sun-drenched beaches to vibrant cities against the towering peaks of the Andes. Discover ancient pre-Hispanic culture, exquisite colonial architecture and splendid wildlife and immaculate coral reefs. All the while accompanied by outstanding guides, and staying in authentic yet beautifully restored boutique hotels.
Start in Bogota, a hip bohemian city, scattered with artistic and cultural gems. Check out the emerging boutiques and thriving nightlife in the trendy districts of Zona Rosa and Zona T. Take a short drive to the colonial town of Cajica and visit Zipaquira Salt Cathedral - an underground church built entirely within the tunnels of an abandoned salt mine.
From Guapi, you’ll board a local boat for a scenic cruise to Gorgona Island. It was declared a National Natural Park due to its large number of endemic species and unique ecosystems. A snorkelling excursion will show you its turtle-frequented coral reefs. The Park's guides are happy to take you on nature hikes through the lunch jungle.
Back on mainland, travel on to Los Nevados Natural Park and its Cocora Valley, home of wax palm - Colombia's national symbol and the world’s tallest palm. The next day you’ll visit one of the many coffee plantations that dot the fertile valleys - learn about their cultural and economic importance, followed by a coffee tasting and lunch.
Cartagena awaits you next!
