You’ll start in Cienfuegos, a World Heritage Site on Cuba’s Southern Coast. Explore its historic centre and its neoclassical architecture, legacy of the French immigrant settlers. Enjoy a performance by the Cienfuegos Choir before dinner in a lovely garden setting. Travel on to colonial World Heritage-declared Trinidad, founded in the early 1500’s. Lunch at a paladar - a privately owned family-run restaurant - hear the stories of daily life in Cuba as you visit more local homes. In the evening, meet the artists at Casa Del Alfarero Santander as you listen to live, authentic Cuban music in a popular club.

Nature calls at Topes De Collantes National Park. This 12’500 acre park is laced with rivers and photogenic waterfalls, a wonderland of lush forests and tropical botanicals. After an off-road adventure through the park, join a naturalist for a forest walk. On the drive to Vinales Valley, you’ll stop by a tobacco farming family to witness the traditional techniques of producing legendary Cuban cigars. The World Heritage Site of Vinales Valley is dotted with mogotes, large isolated limestone hills. Walk or take a bicycle through the various trails, and board a boat inside a limestone cave.

Finally, we arrive in Havana, the Cuban capital and cultural hotspot. Walk the historic streets and soak in the romantic atmosphere and infectious energy. Stroll along the Malecon at sunset, as the waves crash along the sidewalk. If you’re interested, visit Finca La Vigia, Ernest Hemingway’s home for 21 years. His mail is on the bed and his clothes are in the closet, almost as if he had just stepped out.
