Let us take you to Nicaragua. With the help of experienced guides and an itinerary which suits you and your pace, we guarantee an unforgettable journey through the Land of Lakes and Volcanoes.

We’ll start in Granada, Nicaragua’s oldest Spanish city and one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas. Granada will give you a beautiful overview of Nicaragua’s old and new culture. Its colonial character will charm you as it has charmed us. Stroll its cobblestone streets and end up in Calle La Calzada - a bustling street filled with live guitar music and outdoor cafes. Eat at Hotel Dario, for a superb romantic atmosphere and a Latin-Caribbean menu; you can look forward to grilled fish straight from the local farmer.

We don’t want you to miss out on the often overlooked capital, Managua - a blossoming city which is key to understanding modern Nicaragua. An exquisite view awaits you atop Parque Historico Nacional Loma de Tiscapa. Wonderful handicrafts are worth the drive to the nearby village of Masaya, which boasts markets known for bright woven hammocks, ceramics and other crafts. Travel northwards and end up in Leon - an energetic city which stands at the centre of much of the country’s intellectual and cultural activity. Take a look at the countless political murals scattered here and there, they’ll give you an insight into Nicaragua’s history.

From the town of San Jose we’ll take a ferry to Ometepe Island, an island formed by two volcanoes rising from Lago Nicaragua. Explore its abundant nature and wildlife, sight a howler monkey or green parrot. There’s also the opportunity to visit some of its small surrounding rural villages which make a living on plantain, coffee and bean plantations. You might enjoy doing so by bicycle. Otherwise, there’s plenty of time to swim in clear springs and enjoy the beaches.
